Correct. Which I previously believed was common sense, seeing as that distinction is present in every other type of legal immunity for public employees/officials in the entire body of law of the United States.

The issue has always been whether whatever actions Smith is relying on are within POTUS’s official duties.

exactly,

considering he has a responsibility to protect the Constitution ....all State actions to violate Federal and state Constitutions makes all his actions perfectly legal.

Every state that allowed courts to change voting laws, violated their Constitutions and those of the Federal Government.
