Problem or no problem? DMV related

Solve a disagreement…
After getting registered to vote in my new spot, I stepped into the DMV to ask a quick question about transferring a title from out of state. Took a number just in case I needed it, I was 20 away. At that point, I noticed a clerk not currently helping anyone and stepped up to her window and quickly asked and had my question answered. Probably took all of 30 seconds.
My wife (no pics) says I was wrong to do what I did and that I rudely cut everyone in line. She says I should’ve waited however long it would take for the 20 people ahead of me to be attended to.
What do you guys think?

The DMV is a free for all. Every man for himself. You did nothing wrong.

This is why you shouldn't tell your wife anything.

I wouldn't have even taken a number for that.

at our local DMV, you'd have gotten an arse whipping for cutting line.

Cherish a wife that will side with you always.

Next time send your wife into the DMV to ask the questions.

Never, ever, ever just step into the DMV on a whim because of a question. Ask friends, relatives, coworkers, search online, and throughly review their website first.
The answer you received might be correct, but don’t be surprised when the next time you show up and patiently wait your turn to transfer your title only to discover you weren’t given a complete and accurate answer.
The DMV always wins. There are no shortcuts unless you can avoid it altogether.

Asking a question is fine. Asking a question and then having the clerk provide you service is skipping the line.

Tell her to handle next time.

What if everyone had a 30 second question?

You are right
Your wife is wrong
It’s as simple as that

You skipped in front of everyone and are inconsiderate for doing so

Neither answer is right because everybody operates on their own rules.
Your wife sounds like she voted for Biden and is heading to LSU to free Palestine
