I suspect that Austin has had the whole state of Texas to buffer its stupidity whereas LA doesn't offer as much for BR.

Liberalized culture in BR spreads much faster than its west coast strain.

You'd have to offer me like a 300k yearly salary to move back to BR / Ascension parish.

The suburbs of Austin are where its at. G-town, Liberty Hill, Leander, Cedar park, Hutto Not so much Pflugerville and round rock now. ( those can both be a bit ghetto )

Not many people are mentioning Bee Cave and Lakeway as desirable suburbs. Is there a specific reason for this?

620 traffic is hell. That's why we moved out a bit in 2014. Only gotten worse since with apartments being built now. Also not cheap with proximity to Lake Travis. Great schools though.

From south Louisiana, lived in Austin. Baton Rouge fricking sucks by comparison, and just in general.
