3 day weekend in South/Miami Beach?

Currently Booking a last minute 3 day get away to Miami Beach May 17-20. Landing in Miami in the early evening on the Friday & leaving Monday afternoon.
Just my S/O & I are going. We are looking forward to enjoying the beach, eating good meals, & some cool bars/ after dinner places. (I know that will be a pretty penny).
Is there any recommendations for staying in Mid-beach vs Miami/South beach? There are some good deals on both Collins Ave & on Ocean dr.
Anything helps! Thanks

I much preferred Mid-Beach and North-Beach to South Beach. South Beach was pretty trashy
Even if you aren't staying there, the Fontainebleau is a cool spot to hangout. We were with a 3 month old when we went, so I don't have any suggestions on after dinner places.

Bring your cash to South Beach. Ate at Casablancas. Beaches are nice

Marriott Stanton South Beach
Nice hotel, not too pricey and within easy walking distance of some of the best restaurants in South Beach. Lolos Cantina is attached the property and serves really solid food (or did) with reasonably priced drinks.

Mrs Adajax and I will be there around the same time. I planned to trip to see the Marlins. She wants to see Little Havana and South Beach. Is Key Largo enough of the Keys or should we try to stretch it all the way to Key West. We only have one day for the Keys.

We went in Feb and stayed the Palms. We went to Versailles and then to Little Havana. We had dinner one night at Joe's Stone Crab, I highly recommended it.

Barton G for a dinner
Most memorable dining experience in the US I’ve ever had, and I have been traveling all over for work for a large portion of my life

Go to Little Havana and watch the old dudes play dominoes.

The last time I was down there, I ate at Santorini by Georgios, and it was very good. Mediterranean food, of course...

It depends on what you’re looking for. South Beach has more restaurants and things to do but the hotels there are expensive. You’re looking at at least $500/night for a 600-700 sq ft room at any of the big resort hotels. The boutique hotels are cheaper, but the rooms are way smaller and don’t have many amenities. It all depends on your budget and what you’re willing to spend.
The problem with Miami is that any nice resort that’s worth a shite is always overpriced due to the sheer volume of tourists that flock there. That goes for pretty much every single area of Miami Beach.

If you want great Cuban take an Uber to Sazon in South Beach. Great food and drinks and big portions. Get tostones or croquettes for an appetizer and share an entree. I’m a lechon asado, ropa vieja and vaca frita guy depending on my mood.
