I watched this video of it yesterday. They interviewed the Arizona state legislators director for smart transportation union division. He has some good insight on this particular one. They have been worried about these type of accidents happening.

There has been 30 de-railments in Arizona since 2018.

No he doesn't. He's a union man lobbying for more union jobs.

The unions are up in arms about the longer trains the railroads are running as it takes fewer engineers and conductors to move the same total number of cars.

There is nothing unsafe about a 12,000+ foot train with distributed power.

Means nothing without context. Besides the fact that is an average of 5 per year. In the entire state. Nothing burger.
