I use Onyx (do not know the model number) manual inflated ones for anyone who wants to wear one on my boat (kids are required). This means you must have a regular PFD for kids also because the inflatable ones aren't listed for use for anyone under 16. I keep mine in the back seat of my truck and the first thing I do when I get to the ramp to untie is put it on and the last thing I do before leaving the ramp, after tying down, is take it off. I have worn it into restaurants and the house more times than I can count...you never know its there. I can also shoot about as good with it as I can without it...not that I am dead eye with or without LOL. I have been doing this since the mid 90s when I almost went over the transom on the eastern edge of the gulfstream alone while trying to release a snake sailfish....I have seldom been on a boat or around a body of water since without one on.

PFD’s are more times than not body recovery devices. I can only shake my head when I see kids in small craft on the channel and zero pfd’s on.
Not sure if they still do it but life insurance had a 5 or 7 year waiting period for pay out of a body was not recovered.
