PFD’s are more times than not body recovery devices. I can only shake my head when I see kids in small craft on the channel and zero pfd’s on.
Not sure if they still do it but life insurance had a 5 or 7 year waiting period for pay out of a body was not recovered.

Thats my take...it may save my life but it will certainly help them find my body quicker and not waste resources.
