That's one thing I've never understood about rural living / country folk. Why is there so much derelict crap everywhere?

It's not just the house trailers (I at least understand poverty). The country is full of nice, apparently middle-class houses with yards just littered in debris: disused agricultural implements, PeePaw's 1972 Dodge truck, collapsing sheds and barns, satellite dishes that haven't worked in ages...

Why despoil the rural landscape in such a manner? PeePaw would tell you to get rid of that damned truck if he could talk to you.
