People keep saying this, but I have a problem with it.

What we have are the rights of freedom of speech, assembly, and the press.

“Protest” is too vague of a term. I think its vagueness is intentional.

Any “protest” that blocks roadways, or public access to sidewalks, buildings, parks, etc, is certainly not a protected right.

Making noise such that it distracts people from conducting their normal affairs, such as disturbing a lawful gathering or lecture of a group you oppose, is also not a protected right.
