What position should be given to DeSantis at the end of his term?

I feel it needs to be a position that deals with states. I would love to see him "coaching" states from a position of power.

What position should that be?

I think he would make a great Sec of Homeland Security for Trump, and ply his skills and determination to get ahold of the border situation. Is there a better candidate for that most important of roles in our country today?

Perhaps if we don’t get ahold of the border situation nothing else may matter anyway.

That would be good too given his educational and military background.

I agree and may be ignorant to the influence an AG has, but the DOJ seems to have influence in every department at the federal level.

One that has a box that he can stand on, so he can see over whatever podium he's at.

You mean the ones he can actually walk up to without shuffling along, being guided by personnel, saying things he is not supposed to on his teleprompter, or wandering off?

You’re certainly not wrong about the importance of the AG spot, particularly these days, all things considered. Maybe he could be appointed HomeSec first, beat the situation into better shape, then come midterm of the administration be switched to AG.

Sounds like you (and many others) view DeSantis as a guy that can get really hard shite done, and from a conservative's position.

I think he's done a lot of good for FL. The question is how to take that to the other states.

I definitely think he’s the right person at the right time for a very, very important job or two. Which to me with some notable successes there he should/would be a shoo in for the Presidency in 2028. I will not deny that I had some serious frustrations with him for a little while there, but that doesn’t necessarily affect my opinion of his would be effectiveness in one or two cabinet positions. Additionally there’s nothing like a little time to heal old wounds. Plus in his favor I believe he was put in a bad position by some self-interested advisors who definitely didn’t have his (or our) best interests in mind. And I believe Trump understands that as well.

Ronnie needs to simply continue his "silent" support of Trump.
