Vitello took over a moribund baseball program and has turned them into an SEC contender. He also has built a fanbase from not much and baseball at UT is "on the map."

Jay Johnson has done more than Vitello as he has taken two different programs to the CWS champ series and won one NC.

I am convinced some LSU fans would rather be Arkansas or Tennessee. Lets completely dismiss the championship against the toughest route possible. Why can't we be Arkansas or Tenn!

It's sad some of these LSU fans can't handle a down season. This same thread has already been done about Arkansas' coach who BTW finished in last place in the SEC West within the past decade. In 2016, Van Horn finished 26–29 overall (losing record) and 7–23 in SEC.

I actually like Vitello as a coach, but LSU has a coach who beat him in Omaha.

Arizona was 4 years removed from the national title when jay took over

LSU was 12 years removed from a national title and 4 years removed from a runner up when Johnson took over

When Vitello took over Tennessee they hadn’t made the 64 team field in 13 years

I think context for everything is important
