There is a near 0 reason to have sex scenes in movies/TV to further the story. I can't think of one useful one.

Longmire had one of these type scenes. It's timing in the show, along with the characters involved, felt really awkward and not in sync with the entire rest of the series. Didn't like it. Didn't like it at all.

Tosh had a foley artist on his Youtube a few weeks ago. She agrees. That was her least favorite "sound" to do.. the kissing sound.

I guess Hollywood sex is still happening, but it is not on set being filmed.
It is happening on the casting couch or after a few spiked drinks at the director or lead actor's pad. Just ask Bill Cosby or Harvey Weinstein.
