Let's explore a hypothetical scenario to understand the complex dynamics of international conflicts. Imagine a country with more influence and power than the United States. Picture a scenario where the U.S., under the leadership of President Joe Biden and a Democratic-majority government, initiates a military campaign against this formidable nation.

Now, envision that the American public, across a broad spectrum of political beliefs, unites in support of this action. This unity and resolve help to carry forward the campaign through various means and efforts.

Contemplate the tables turned: the attacked nation retaliates and invades U.S. soil. In this situation, the U.S. reaches out to the international community, advocating that the actions of its government shouldn't justify indiscriminate repercussions on its citizens.

This brings us to a real-world example: the relationship between Hamas and Palestine. It is important to consider that Hamas is not simply an isolated entity in Palestine; they were democratically elected to govern. This implicates that a significant portion of the Palestinian population aligned with their perspectives at the time of their election. Therefore, when analyzing the conflict between Israel and Palestine, one should recognize it as not just an altercation with a specific group but as a broader engagement with the Palestinian territories, especially after significant events such as the unity between Hamas and the Palestinian leadership on October 7.

Such reflections can help us understand the weight of collective responsibility in international affairs and the role that national choices play on the global stage.

Japan learned with the quickness that their citizens are going to feel the pain after their government sucker punched us.

There is no reality after Oct 7 where Hamas and the civilians/human shields behind which they hide get to claim any moral superiority. All they have to do is stop trying to end Israel's existence if they want some peace.
