And if society's definition of "being an a-hole" is guided by secular Puritans who are offended by everything, do you think that is a good thing?

Where does legitimate racism fall in the "offended by everything" grouping?

I'm not saying the majority or even a small minority of this group were racist, but any individual who made monkey noises at a black person was being racist.

Not sure if Fells has determined if that counts as being an a-hole, but I assume not since he hasn't even mentioned anything about her

Of course not. The left is consumed by the oppressor-oppressed narrative that forms the basis of critical race theory and the social justice movement. It's precisely why he and the rest of the usual suspects are more focused on a white frat boy doing monkey noises at a fat black girl than they are with the Hamas protesters assaulting people at universities around the country. Every interaction is seen solely through the lens of the victim hierarchy.

Doing a thing you might expect a racist to do*

I'm somewhat but not totally shocked that you are taking a position that can be obliterated if you went through a simple thought exercise.

So the definition of racism changes, and right now it means dancing like a monkey towards a black person?

White flag post.

Is that kid being a racist right now as we speak?

Everything has different definitions for different context.

That's how language works.

Well yeah. Only an idiot would disagree.

This isn't some shocking reality. This isn't even limited to America. Spanish and Italian soccer is known for this exact type of racism.

You are exponentially weaker and more obtuse right now than pretty every other instance where people have given you shite. It's embarrassing.

Is the kid a racist or is he not? Are you only prepared to say that he acted as a racist for 2 seconds of his life?

Free speech. It’s still ok to act like a jackass.

You're the one who combined them.

The thing is, being shunned by the public for shitty behavoir is a normal thing that has always existed. You only dislike it here because you disagree with the subject matter. According to you, racism should be excluded from the types of behavior that generates consequences. Hmm, I wonder why that is?

I mean it's fine. Your kind will continue to die out and this kid will be regretting his actions for a long, long time, so I'm walking away from this a winner

Conclusions without arguments are so 2024

quote:

Is the kid a racist or is he not?

Where did I say the individual was "racist" or "not racist"?

I defined racism in terms of behavior. You don't get to change definitions to try to conform to whatever argument you believe you have created. That's a straw man.

We can go back to the definition you didn't read.

quote:

But being a dick to a person of a different race, based/relying on racial characteristics of that dickness recipient, makes the behavior of the dick, racist.

...like making monkey noises at black people.

quote:

I'm not saying the majority or even a small minority of this group were racist, but any individual who made monkey noises at a black person was being racist.

Again, defined in terms of behavior, not the characteristics of the person.

And? The kid was being an idiot. Should his whole life be ruined for what amounts to a moment of idiocy? I don't think so. And I think it's funny that this is the story the national media latches onto when, just last week at universities across the country, you had hundreds of students dressing like Islamic terrorists, excluding Jews from participating in school and assaulting people. But because they're largely minority students advocating for brown people in the Middle East, they're given a pass to engage in worse acts.

Well some people are trying to deny that it was even racist.

I'm clarifying that we're not lumping in actual racism into simple "offensive" categorization.

No. I never said that. Hell, never even got to go down that path, b/c I'm trying to have people agree the behavior itself was racist (which has, shockingly, a lot of push back).

Some of us told y'all they were going to

This rhetoric is on the same level of isolating the "counter protest" to this racist monkey stuff: dishonest.

Yet your side is fine with calling for the actual elimination of a race... from the river to the sea. These people need to face the same punishment as the kid who allegedly made monkey faces.

This actually happened. What would Fells's reaction be if this were 3 white Ole Miss students blocking a black kid from going to class? But no, he's more focused on a white kid making an offensive gesture at a black girl than he is at this.

ETA: with campus security right there watching.
