As I've said before, 45% flat tax on all income over 50K. And before you scoff and dismiss this as "off your rocker", such levels of taxation are commonplace in Europe and possibly other developed countries.

Since everyone wants their hands in the govt coffers, we need to make sure those coffers are funded, and social programs are fully payed for.

Large corporations have expensive accountants and lawyers to navigate tax law.

IRS will instead ream individuals who made honest mistakes

You should only be scared of any audit if you are doing shady shite and not following the law.

The IRS is not evil and there are actually some smart folks that work for the Service. They have plenty of issues that need to be fixed as well.

The IRS plans to triple the audit rates on large corporations with assets of more than $250 million. Audit rates for these companies will rise to 22.6% in tax year 2026 from 8.8% in 2019.

You are an insane person. That isn’t taxing the rich. That destroys the lower middle class. The rich are already approaching that. All this does is prove to all of us you’re a poor.

That being said. Your insane proposal doesn’t address the question I asked. What percentage of the burden should “the rich” pay?

Like who? Belgium? Yeah, you'll looooove the tax burden placed on labor vs capital in that country.

You like inefficiency? Google "trous autoroute belgique" and let me know what you think of their road tax.

I would actually argue they get more bang for their buck off of audits of large corporations. Sure, a Google will doggedly defend the tax planning they've done through intellectual property placement but they'll let concede other things based on the materiality to them. Tax departments are cost centers and don't have endless budgets. Most CFOs also dgaf about tax as long the effective rate isn't wildly out of the range of industry norms and you're not getting served with some material assessment.

Of these highly taxed countries, how many send many hundreds of billions of dollars worth of confiscated funds to other countries as some supposed sort of charity in exchange for nothing tangible?

We knew this was going to happen with the massive hirings. The dems aren't stupid and will wait after the election to hammer those who voted for them. That's if they win via vote stealing.

Makes sense. Corporations, as well as the rich, need to pay their fair share

What is a fair share? Besides some catchy phrase that invokes class conflict, what is a fair share, especially in relation to expenditures? Shouldn’t all contribute a fair share?
