So the aggy/Mizzery fairy tales say, but not backed by the actual facts. Nebby ran from the Big12 because unlike the Big 8 partial qualifiers werent allowed in the Big12 meaning they couldn't stack a bunch of athletic freaks that can barely spell their own name. Colorado left for reasons still unknown, but they thought the B1G pastures would be greener...nothing to do with Texas. aggy left because they were tired of perpetually being in the shadow of big bro, and tired of losing to us more often than not, lulz. Not sure why Mizzery left or what the SEC was thinking on that one, but the fact is for every little thing they say we did...votes among schools were nearly unanimous, and aggys vote was never different from ours and OU. (On Big12 conference matters) Of course someone has to be the scapegoat, and jealousy over the LHN (which was supposed to be Big12 network until aggy pitched a fit about it somehow benefitting us unfairly) was just the thing everyone needed to point to us as the bad guy. Notice how the gooners never cried about big bad Texas ruining anything? They just kept the Norman football factory running and dominated the conference most years.
