You telling me a recent college grad working in downtown Houston wouldn’t want that place if he wanted to live in that area? I didn’t say it was for everyone, but it’s for him/her. Just like a welder or plant operator would want to live out in Baytown or near Galveston.

I actually do fine for myself but was extremely fortunate in some ways. My wife and I don't have kids yet and thankfully, we didn't start our family before covid. I'm recognizing, however, that a lot of other people are screwed but typical boomer logic. If it doesn't impact me, I'm not worried about it.
Just because I managed to do well doesn't mean it's not b/s for a ton of people.

Know why the expensive part of the city is expensive? Maybe people don't want to live in the "cheap" part of town where all the shootings, robberies, failing schools, drug traffic, assaults, break-ins, etc occur.

the boomers' entire point has been that millennials can get ahead if they simply don't made imprudent financial decisions while continually telling us reasonable real estate can be had like this condo that's appreciably worse than just renting for the next decade.

individuals make dumb decisions, like whoever bought that place and has been trying to sell it for 34 days.
someone can find cheaper rent within blocks of that place in a very similar living conditions, if not nicer.

Boomers: Well, if you would make better financial decisions, you could afford a home.
Also Boomers: Look at this great financial option of a 500 sqft apartment for $190k! Your mortgage will only be higher than rent in surrounding areas, along with HOA fees, oh, and you will never recoup any of the money you put into it because it is an aging apartment that is surrounded by newer property.

See, this is why you guys aren’t taken more seriously. Yes, you have some legitimate gripes, but you exaggerate it to such a degree that it’s hard to garner sympathy.
Is your argument that no realistic properties exist for a millennial family that isn’t 500 square feet and in the hood? Yet somehow, we don’t have millions of homeless millennials begging for food at every street corner. How is that possible?
