Elite offense
Last year LSU had the 2nd worst defense in the SEC, ranked only ahead of Vandy. Just having a mediocre SEC defense would've probably meant that LSU doesn't lose to either Ole Miss or Bama and would've went into the SECCG against UGA at 11-1 with the winner going to the playoffs.
