and it seems like a lot of people feel the same way

I think that's more of just a movie problem in general at this point.

If you look at domestic numbers year by year, the Marvel movies are still about the same.

In 2017 Guardians 2 was 5th, Homecoming 6th, Ragnarok 8th.

In 2018 Ant-Man was 9th (BP and Infinity War were 1 and 2)

In 2019 Captain Marvel was 6th and Far from Home was 7th (Endgame was 1)

In 2021 No Way Home was 1, Shang-Chi was 2, Black Widow was 4 (down year for movies in general, obvious reasons)

In 2022 Wakanda Forever was 3, Doctor Strange 4, Thor 8th

and last year Guardians was 4th and Ant-Man was 8th, and The Marvels was 30th. But I don't think the Marvels is a sign of general fan interest.

All that to say though, I don't know if it's that people don't give a shite, people just don't go to the movies anymore. I mean if you look at the numbers Dune 2 did domestically in 2024 that would have made it the 11th highest grossing movie in 2019. Domestically Dune didn't even make $10M more than The Grinch that came out in 2018.
