Currently players have all the power and can hold schools hostage for more money. NCAA opened Pandora’s box and needs to figure out a way to at least protect schools somewhat. I am old school and thing a scholarship and all the extra benefits including living stipends were payment enough for these kids, but I get change too.

There needs to be contracts and there needs to be restrictions on transfers again ASAP. Make kids sign 2 year contracts with schools essentially to get/keep NIL and then after 2 years they can free transfer.

The schools don’t have to pay it. The boosters don’t even HAVE to pay it.

They are choosing to pay it. For now. That well will eventually dry and common sense will become a little more common.

You saw two big name schools just a week ago say no to a price that they could afford because they didn’t think a player, at a position of need, was worth it.

Need a little bit of that going around but it’s coming.
