One portal DT wouldn't "close the gap" but two or three would have.
Look man, give us a couple mill so we can afford to waste money on one and dones who are nowhere near a sure thing. Nobody is expecting any of these guys to make us a top 5 DL, and even 3 of them together wouldn't make us elite.
I love BK's process on this. It aligns with what makes sense to me and people that don't need instant gratification.

The other thing shite like this does is create a snowball effect and create an even larger problem. You don't think guys on the roster see this going on and thinking "Wait, this one year rental at DT just got $1.5 million and he's a good player at best. I'm in my second year here, where's my reward for loyalty?"
I get the depth sucks, but if you digging that hole at a position like that, you're going to be digging your own grave at some point
