re: On average, how much do you spend on a bottle of wine?

When younger, wife and I went to wine tasting classes. Brewers would bring in their fancy wines, taught us words like clean/fruity/balanced/etc. and sold their wine for $100 - $150 a bottle. Then at a Christmas party at a client I asked what wine wine they were serving (which I thought was excellent), turned out to be a box wine from South America which cost about $15 bucks. I've bought box wine ever since.
