Weren’t these deemed unconstitutional or something and that’s why no one pays them?

I have about two dozen of them between my wife and I for going 3 miles an hour over the speed limit. The fact that 63% of people have paid them is mind blowing to me. Just simply don’t park illegally in New Orleans and you’re good.

I don't know about that, but NO is ridiculous in enforcement of the traffic regs. And to add insult to injury, the fines are crazy. They don't give a shite because the contact holder handles everything for a cut of the collections. It's free money to the city.

Going 3mph over the posted limit? Ticket.
(I think it's 3, but it might be 2.)
Shitty or no signage in school zones? Tough luck! Ticket.
Mardi Gras Day when every school in the area is closed? Ticket.
Jammed up in an intersection because of heavy traffic? Tough shite. Ticket.

I fricking hate the traffic cameras, as I'm sure most citizens do. But I saw this report on Fox8 last night. There's a couple on Filmore Ave who have run up almost $135,000 in unpaid traffic fines over the past ten or twenty years. I guess they never park on the street, so they have no fear of getting booted.

I wonder if they brag about their record.
