Surprised (but not really) by this confusing people.

Most NIL deals (not the collective nonsense but actual NIL deals from third parties) require some sort of activity be completed in exchange for whatever sum of funds. The company can say hey we will pay you X number of money per game played, per tweet, per Instagram post, per appearance at our business, per commercial, or however they want to determine their payout.

The NCAA would have no control over that in the current system - not that they have any control anyways.

Instead of making it a requirement, make it a bonus that triggers when you play in a bowl game, bigger bonus for playoff games.

I thought one of the NIL rules was that NIL contracts couldn't be tied to a player actually playing or their on field performance? So are they repealing that rule so that NIL contracts can include stipulations about not opting out of bowl games?

I thought players gave up eligibility once they signed with an agent?
Is that rule still actually in effect?

Use to lose your eligibility if the NCAA found out that a booster bought you dinner or loaned you a car. Now they can pay you six figures to be on a restaurant billboard and give you a car with no problems.
