my body is ready.
i still remember first hearing about it and we were in line the second the tickets went on sale for the Dallas show.
didn't have 2 pennies to rub together but i managed to scrape enough for gas money to get from houston to dallas and even enough leftover to buy a tshirt (which I still have).
it was a FANTASTIC moment. it felt like something that had never been done before and i still get goosebumps thinking of body count, violent femmes, NIN, siouxsie (before i got to hang with her), living color, butthole surfer...it was nonstop entertainment.
crowd went absolutely BATSHIT during the body count show then perry came out after dark with that 2 story scarecrow behind him on the stage and i was pretty..ahh...'into' things by then and it felt like the best thing i had ever done up to that point in my life.
i know..exaggeration, blah blah but shite. you had to be there. idiots in the grass setting fires left and right; so many water bottles being tossed into the air it looked like a swarm of giant wasps..guy in front of us faceplanting and dropping an entire sheet of acid which the girls with me snatched off the ground and stuffed in their purse IMMEDIATELY.
i went with 3 crazy arse chicks; one was part native american and had her hair done up in corn-rows and i had some really fun times with them. i can't imagine a better 'just out of college' experience than houston in the early 1990s hanging with 3 chicks who knew ABSOLUTELY EVERY NOOK AND DEVIANT CRANNY in the entire houston area.
i was going out about 6x a week.
in fact, its one of those girls who insisted i go to EMOs on a random tuesday night after siouxsie had performed at the Unicorn and we go into a literal empty bar then 5 minutes later..here comes siouxsie and her entire band and we got to hang with them all night. just me, my girl Apache (that was her nickname i gave her), siouxsie and budgie.
CSB, CAD.
