Angel often talks about people “looking like her.” Girls she inspires, this coach, etc. It’s standard language in this generation about representation and it does NOT mean that she doesn’t respect and connect with white people 
I understand why it can be irksome to hear, focusing on race, but it’s not being done in a negative or zero-sum way.
And if you choose to misunderstand this, please refrain from any hypocritical Cooper DeJean fandom, which —to white guys— should clue you into the concept. I, meanwhile, will support the Great White Hope on our behalf.
