In a weird way I actually think No Country for Old Men qualifies as "overrated" for them because a lot of people think it came from their brilliant minds but they actually just filmed the Cormac McCarthy novel almost scene for scene and word for word. And I think Tommie Lee Jones was involved before they were.

I read the book after watching the movie and had to double check to make sure it wasn't the script. Very minor difference between book and movie right down to the dialogue.

If anything, RA is underrated.

I've never been able to get through The Hudsucker Proxy. That's probably my pick.

Something like Barton Fink is way out there but I can appreciate it's themes. It's just so over the top.

I actually find Raising Arizona to be "overrated" in the sense that it just never clicked with me. It's "OK." Oh Brother is a much funnier movie to me.

Their Best in no particular order:

Fargo
True Grit
No Country
O Brother
Ballad of Buster Scrugs, chapter 1.

Can't believe I'm leaving Lebowski off this list.

You left off Miller's Crossing? It is a great movie.

Blood Simple was good also.

Fargo is a masterpiece.

The only thing they got wrong in the entire movie was Margie's husband fishing with night crawlers in the dead of winter.

It's either minnows, waxworms or some type of dead bait. Night crawlers are seasonal.

Oh Brother Where Art Thou
The Big Lebowski

Both are overrated IMO and I’m fine with being in that minority. If I had to make a choice of what I had to watch I’d go with Oh Brother. I love the actors in The Big Lebowski I just don’t like the movie.

It’s definitely The Big Lebowski. It’s just not that funny

I don’t think of Big Lebowski as a comedy. It’s more of a docu drama. It follows the daily events of one lazy man, quite possibly the laziest in Los Angeles County, which would place him high in the running for laziest worldwide.

Call me crazy but some of their movies are brilliant the first time around and not so much after.

I thought No Country for Old Men and Fargo were brilliant the first time. Absolutey loved them. I just watched Fargo again and it was decent but not memorable other than a few scenes in the Oldsmobile dealership.

Lebowski on the other hand is a top five movie for me. It's not about the jokes or the weed, it's about the way my relationship to the movie changed. When I was in college it was a very funny movie. Now in my 40's I feel like a know a couple Lebowskis (and a couple Bunnys) and I see it in a different light.

It's still a great movie but it could have still been a great movie if they never picked up the book.

I think it's a great movie also. But it seems natural that we are now getting to the "No County for Old Men is overrated" edgy takes in internet discussions.

Who made you the leader of this outfit?

Turturro owns me in this movie. Pitch perfect.
