Warner, Queen, Demario

Not saying that makes Perk a top 10 pick but being able to cover is pretty important in todays nfl

I'm not saying he doesn't have talent, but based on his overall performance since he arrived at LSU, I was thinking 3/4 round at best. He was unbelievable his freshman season, but last year there were several games he was a total non-factor and the times you did see him, he was of position or missing a tackle.

We also had a moron for a DC last year and our D was just about the worst LSU D I had ever seen. I imagine Baker will find a good way to use him and we'll see more explosive plays out of him this year.

Also, not sure anyone could keep up that pace that he started with as a freshman. It was incredible to watch. Teams started scheming around him. But if you have a smart D coordinator and teams start trying to scheme against 1 guy on your D, then you exploit that with your other talented players until they have to do something different or they just get killed on offense.

NFL coaching is 2x better than college and they think , rightfully so, they can max a player out. Look at Danielle Hunter. And why are you shocked? Aren't you an LSU fan? Do you watch the games?

Teams actively gamelan to account for Harold Perkins. He is elite and will have a very successful NFL career barring injury.

Maason has prototypical size. Harold's production isn't an issue but his size will be a legit concern for the NFL. If he's in the barely 230 range not every team will think he fits their scheme.

This is true, he could very well project as a box safety/OLB hybrid type of role.

Has literally nothing to do with this

Teams actively gameplan for RBs, too. Many have successful NFL careers. Doesn't make them valuable.

You are saying he does not have talent if you don’t understand how he can be projected as a 1st rounder. Did you think Chase should have been a 1st round pick after opting out an entire year and only have 1 year of playing experience?

NFL scouts look at more than stats. They look at his height, speed, his leadership. Is he taking plays off? Like others have said, NFL scouts know he was not coached well. This year his stats will be better and then at the combine and Pro Day he will perform well to be rated as one of the top prospects.

Perkins is a huge talent and he may well play himself into the 1st round but he's not there yet. He has to learn how to play linebacker. He stood around lost a lot last season. We all want to put that entirely on House but we'll see. It seems like the ball crossing the line of scrimmage would simplify assignments but it didn't always seem to. But hopefully Baker is a better teacher.

I agree with that. I think Baker will teach and show him more than what House did. Everyone saw his talent as a freshman. He was able to cause a lot of problems bc of his ability and the D-line was better his freshman season. Last year due to injury and not having a real D line coach, the D line suffered. Therefore Perkins was the main target for the offense to block.

Now that LSU has a legit D line coach and DC who will know how to teach, Perkins and the defense will be better. The product on the field and results will determine if that is true.

There are 2 big differences

1. Chase had a historic, dominant year in 2019
2. Chase is a WR

Neither apply to Perkins.

My point was that clearly teams could use to spend a first rounder to get a player of their caliber.

Roquan is another. 8th overall

Mosley went 17th
