yeah that’s the long exposure which is helping with the visibility. Sounds like it looks pretty faint for most people here but with the long exposure you get those glaring colors.

so that was nearly an hour before I went outside then. I must’ve missed it. Hopefully it intensifies come the middle of the night. When I’m staying in MT a couple times of year and there’s supposed to be a great chance of seeing the Aurora I always miss it because i find out it happened in the middle of the night. Guessing that should be the same case here where it’d be most visible in the dead of night around 2-3 am or so
