He still needs to be traded. He's a free agent after this season and he's not going to be offered a long term deal in Houston. He's on the wrong side of 30. Best thing for him and the club would be for him to get scorching hot the next 2 months and up the trade value

He's not getting moved if the team is in playoff contention

And yes on getting scorching hot and raising his value for his next deal elsewhere

Preferably to a team with a short porch in left so he can be himself

he's exactly 30 as of a couple of months ago. A lot of players sign long-term deals at 30. In fact, 29-30 years old is when most sign of those larger long-term deals are signed, depending on what your definition of "long-term" is. A ton of 5-6 year deals for a whole lot of money are signed by 30+ year old players

Who else is going to offer him a long-term deal?

Crane and Co. want him to end his career in Houston, just like Altuve and Alvarez.

They don't give a shite what the short-term memory fans have to say.
