New Monroe hockey team owner and NOLA businessman Nic Perkins goal is to land an NHL expansion team in New Orleans. In the video below his says his goal is next 5 years. Don’t think this happens but didn’t even think it was being discussed.

I hope this happens. I’m tired of being an internet expert on football, the nba and college baseball.
I need to stretch my wings.

Don’t think the NHL is looking at the 52nd biggest city for expansion

"If Las Vegas can stand up a championship hockey team in the middle of desert, New Orleans can stand up one in the middle of the bayou."
Vegas is bigger city number one. Number 2 the Golden Knights were their first team from the 4 major sports leagues. And they made the SCF their first season and which also started with that mass shooting on the strip so it gave the city something to rally behind. They became ingrained in the city pretty quickly.
I just find it hard to see NOLA giving an NHL team that much support when there's already the Saints. The Pels have inconsistent support, I'd expect an NHL team to be even worse once the novelty runs out after a year or two unless they're title contenders out of the gate like Vegas was.
I'd definitely go to some games though if it did happen

Nobody in Nola is going for a hockey game, hockey is demographics dependent. We all know blacks in Nola ain’t gonna go see a hockey team.
They’d move or fold within 2 years

The Pels don’t do great. The NHL would be terrible. I’d rather MLB, but that has no shot either.

Nola can barely support 2 teams, never getting another.

Nola residents have no where close to the level of disposable income to support a third major sports team.

Brass games were super fun to go to 25 years ago. Does that mean that enough people would go to enough games? Definitely not. But some people in the region liked hockey when we had it, and those people aren't necessarily the same people buying Pelicans tickets.

It would struggle. I don’t think the transplants are at a level to sustain it but you have a lot of folks in the city that came from hockey regions.
I’d love to go to games. In person hockey is a lot of fun

I used to go to several Brass games a year when they were in existence. It was always a fun time but I don't think there would be enough support to keep an NHL team here if even get one to start with.

The Pels get supported pretty well considering how they treat the fanbase.
Id trade them for a NHL team.

The NHL has too many teams already

I wonder if this happens when there is also a New Arena for the Pelicans

The Pels don’t do great

I’d buy front row season tickets in a heartbeat. I’ve loved the NHL this year but I’ve never been to a game. This would be incredible.

New Orleans barely supports the teams it has now, there is zero chance they get a NHL or MLB team in the next couple of decades.

Brass games were the shite back in the day. still dont understand why the hornets and them couldnt make it work
