I lived on a houseboat on a COE lake north of Atlanta while I was in college. Surprisingly around the end of July if not the middle of July, just after the 4th, there were always a bunch of boats for sale in the marina I was in. Folks would get tired of paying slip rent and, having used the boat sparingly during the summer, decide its time to sale. Having lots of boats for sale did not do much to drive down prices though. Selection may be slightly better but prices are what they are in my experience.
