Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Ohio state and Michigan with USC maybe slipping in and getting 6th spot - recruiting, tradition, NIL, and balls to walls or bust. Honestly, we are in the next 5-10. No reason Georgia, Ohio State, Texas or USC don’t win. Big states with good HS football and unlimited resources. The distance between have and have nots is expanding. Super teams are forming. You got a good player and are #20, here comes NIL and the big dogs to pluck players.

Name the others? LSU is not in that group. You can bitch all you want, but we aren’t.

Penn State looked far better than Ohio State and they have a QB with a higher ceiling and chips on everyone’s shoulders being overlooked for years in the B1G. Not saying they’ll be top 5 every season but they could go farther than OSU or Michigan this season.

Not sure ISC belongs in that group.

They don’t care enough in LA anymore.

Maybe replace them with Oregon

Do they have recruiting base? Do they have tradition? Is Fayetteville a desirable location? Do they win? Are they winning in portal? Enquiring minds want to know.

Penn State is like us - they can slip in there but year after year that don’t have it. LSU, Oklahoma, Penn State, Tennessee, Oregon, Auburn and a few more are in our group. We all could win a NC, but we have less of chance than the top 5/6. It is what it is.

They may never again be a player in college football's Elite Fleet, and here's why:

The grim, and painful reality is that Nick Saban molded a then-moribund football program into a superpower. It would have remained so if Saban had stayed longer. The further removed we become from AFLAC Nick's presence on the sidelines the more irrelevant the football program will get. Miles' and Orgeron's championships were rare occasions whereby every factor needed for success fell into place; I don't expect that to ever happen again. Particularly now with Louisiana becoming increasingly an irrelevant state with people trying to leave as fast as possible, and the reality of the transfer portal. What top notch players really want to come to Baton Rouge and play for Kelly now?

Ok. The scores from this weekend tell you all you need to know. 10 super teams and rest just surviving. You got 2 super conferences and everyone else is pissing in wind. 3/4 SEC and 3/4 Big 10 teams at top and it will get worst.

They are 2nd tier like us. They slipped by Idaho. We would have hung Kelly over the side of Tiger Stadium.

LSU will be there regardless of your bitching.

Elite $$ is Texas and Aggie
UGA, Bama, OSU - not elite $
SC fan support is spread entirely too thin

Michigan will fall, no doubt in my mind. LSU can be there if they close these next two classes.
