How long until we get a state leader to slash wasteful spending?

Including those state employees getting paid to do next to nothing?

Surely red states will get leaders willing to do this at some point?

We're to the point where everything needs auditing, from road contracts to all forms of welfare recipients.

Our biggest problem is an attorney-run dictatorship that chases business to Texas.

My La State reps fb response to USAid being shut down was “it felt so good waking up knowing planned parenthood lost money yesterday”. Just sticks to the republican talking point and get re-elected. He’s not even remotely a conservative. They refuse to touch the administrative state. It’s too close to home and for rural parishes the majority are employed by the government in some capacity.

Remember after 2 terms of Mike Foster )Republican), the LA State budget almost doubled? We could cut the LA budget in half given the graft that’s been going on.

Politicians have no desire to cut spending, left or right. Trump and Elon are not politicians, they are business men. Trump never ran for anything except President and Elon ran for nothing. Only non-politicians have any desire to cut spending. Just as businessmen desire for their business to constantly grow, politicians desire for their power and their business (government) to constantly grow.

I heard a current governor talking to someone about why he wanted to be Governor after having a cushy AG job that paid the same and had similar retirement benefits. Easy, he said, AG's don't get a helicopter. That about sums up politics.
