I know that some of the "mansion" interior scenes were filmed in the lobby of the Great Hall on Airline, where all gun shows and liquidation sales are. They also filmed near the Capitol.

Alot of filming done in B.R. My sister got to sit in on some filming of it as a neighbor of ours was a stand in for the kid in the movie and she was a babysitter for him.
She got a picture with Richard Pryor..said he was nice.
Said Jackie Gleason was about as big an a-hole as you could imagine. Heard the same from a guy who was a member of the B.R. film association or some such who used to be involved in any filming done in B.R.
Said the only bigger a-hole than Gleason was one of the Carradiene brothers. Can't remember if it's the one who just...well, whatever.

I believe the movie was filmed entirely in Baton Rouge.

The department store scene was filmed on the 2nd floor at what was then Goudchaux's at Cortana (now Dillards).

the exterior part of the mansion was from a house built on old perkins rd, i think.

The House from the movie is on Perkins Road on the right just before Santa Maria. Dan Heard lives there.

I think the scene with the long banquet table in the office building was filmed in One American Place. You can see chase tower out the window in that scene.

When they break into the newspaper place, that was the Daily Star's office in Hammond. Daily Star has since moved and I think it's a Special Olympics office now.
The Piranha scene was filmed in Pumpkin Center at Sleepy Hollow campground.

I love this movie. The kid wears a tiger's hat in one scene. That's was probably the Mayor's of Baton Rouge's only request to let them film in the city.

i believe the whole fricking city of baton rouge makes it in this movie.. at least the parts that were relevant in 1982
the kid also wears an lsu hat and this movie has been coming on tv a lot lately
