More commomly known in Louisiana as the "Beer" lobby and believe me they are a powerful bunch. Always have been and in this state always will be.
And though not on par with say Fortune 500 careers, salaries, infrastructure,etc..
They too play their part, ever so small, yet symbolic, in running off La's brightest in the brain-drain, as kids flock to progressive cities and states, ones with microbreweries and assorted select beers/liquors that aren't distributed in this 49th/50th banana republic.

There was a Red Robin at the Mall of La. IT bombed.
Not so much bombed, as was an inept and underfunded RR franchisee that corporate office despised, and fought with, he ran a sorry operation.
RRs are a solid chain if properly located and run.

BR actually had one way back in the early eighties, across the street from Murphy's, in what was later a daquiri shop, where Subway now sits. New Orleans has one right off South Carrollton.

Stayed at my aunt's house in Vermont about 3 years ago and we drove about 20 miles to their original factory and took the tour. It's like ice cream heaven. High quality product, but I've never been to a location in BR.

Pappaitos - Closed on Bluebonnet/Perkins.

When was there a Reb Robin the Mall of La.? I know it's blasphemy to like a chain restaurant, but RR actually makes some pretty damn good burgers IMO

There was a Ben and Jerrys store at the "Towne Center" I stayed at in Restin, VA.
They also had a yogurt joint Yogun Fruz which was friggin awesome.........so I'd like a Yogun Frus and a Jackson's restaurant....the lobster roll is unbelieveable.

When it opened, circa 1998 or '99 to about '03 or '04.
BR desperately could use a Sweet Tomatoes/Soup Plantation.

A local owned Micro Brew Pub that brews on site.
There was one several years ago at the Copeland's location on Essen. It did not last too long as I recall.

Actually, Red Robin didn't even make it beyond a year. It was replaced by that horrible Copeland's idea of wrapping all your food together in a tortilla. What was the name of that place? It didn't make it either.
I got fried chicken, rice and gravy and french fries in a wrap. and I actually ate that crap. Heartburn City!!!!

The "town center" was the first of its kind in the US. Why the quotes. Reston is a town, afterall.

never existed in BR to my knowledge
It was in the Mall of Louisiana next to Sears upstairs and it lasted a couple of years.
I had a Red Robin in Scotsdale years ago and it was my first burger with a fried egg on top.

life
Seriously, if it's "illegal" to entertain a micro brewpub, that's sad. It's bad enough that certain beers can't even be brought in by distributors. (eg. Goose Island)
How about an ESPN Zone
