I might be thinking of someone else...maybe it was Barrow the year before. I don't see it in any recent articles on Porter. Ok, maybe I was wrong. Don't know why I thought it was him. So, I take back what I said.

It still sucks he isn't able to go to LSU, I wanted him here personally. But at least he still gets to play in the SEC.

when "fricked over" means literally 400+ other OL would kill to have the option he did.

I don't really think it matters how many people would love to be in that situation. He was offered a scholarship, then at the last minute was told that 25 other players were better than him. Sorry.

That's fricked over in my book.

Yup, his options were to find a school that had an available scholarship, most of his initial offers from before signing day were full or to wait 6 months and trust that Les keeps his word on a scholarship in January with the supposed stud class coming in and very few spots coming open from seniors and PP leaving.

In the end, the kid had UK (where he is now behind the curve with all his teammates) or risk not having a scholly again in January.

Acting like there was no consequences for the kid shows how little you all respect the kids time and right to a fair choice.

They had it on their mind he would be a grayshirt candidate, he refused, they said ok. They lied to him. Plain and simple.

Now you are a fricking mind reader?
He knew that gray shirting was a possibility, or it would not have been discussed. He said at the time that he wouldn't take one when he thought that he wouldn't have to. I think it was honorable of the staff to offer him instead of just cutting him. People change their minds. The staff gave the boy an opportunity to do that. Just fu cuking cut the lid loose? Or maybe you would like that better. What ahuminatarian you are.
But this isn't about Porter is it with you is it?

Then how come Harry Coleman or Rocky Duplessis didn't feel fricked over when they took their greyshirt???

He had a fair choice. He was one of 28 candidates fighting for 25 spots. This was a possibility from the beginning. He easily could have chosen a school not doing that but he chose to take the chance to go to LSU.

What I don't understand is why LSU didn't just grayshirt Wing...

They must not have any confidence in Helton at all and feel like we don't need OL depth right now. Well, I guess we can go ahead and add another OL attrition for this year. I expect at least another 3 or so. Happens every year on the OL.

We have a logjam at DL and have kept most of them. Going to likely have attrition there next year too. Someone is going to be pissed they're not seeing enough PT. Especially with the inc class.

Not really, how was the guy supposed to know LSU was going to accept extra guys at the end of signing day. 5 or 6 guys were not certain and 3 or so came out of nowhere.

Again, its a shitty situation for the kid. Just cause some less talented kid that couldn't get an offer would jump on that option doesn't make it right.

Yeah, real honorable.

You have the most amazingly arse backwards logic I have ever see.

Let's see here....

He goes from getting a scholarship offer. He commits. He signs. The week before Fall camp, he is told that he needs to greyshirt because LSU signed 27, and he and one other person are of less value than the other 25.

He can no longer sign with another school like Nebraska, or Florida St. because they are full.

And Porter is the one now who should be greatful to the staff for being so honorable? What a dumb frick you are.

Which schools that offered Porter before signing day were full? If you are going to make a claim like this, back it up with facts.

The staff could have gray shirted almost any one. Based upon their projections, they chose Porter. And Porter knew that there was a chance of it since it was apparantly discussed previously.

Miles didn't invent this.

BTW There was an article in the Moblie paper regarding the exact situation with an Alabama signee.

the boob, your logic is not sound. porter could not take one for the team, no matter the options he was offered.

He knew he was on the cusp because the possibility of being offered a grey shirt had been mentioned to him.
Sorry but reality hurts. In the minds of the coaches there WERE 25 players better.
