Well, in my first two days I've worked an average of 11 hours, with most of the office there before me and most of the VP/MDs there after me (I just got home). At the same time, I've had no less than 4 conversations about IB analysts (primarily because one guy just left to go to Wachovia/WFC) that have moved on after working here. My favorite one was the one about the guy who went to UBS, and when the HR lady called him the week after he moved on (UBS in Htown), he told her that he had not left his office since he started on Monday. This was Thursday. First week. F.M.L. Athantos, mad respek. You know you're hardcore when people who regularly work 12 hour days think you are a workaholic, and this isn't exactly an underachieving bunch, at least 10 CFAs, 3 CPA/CFAs, and effectively all MBAs (UT).

Just wanted to check in and give some chilling news my mom told me. A new SVP at her company who is 35 is making 300 base in IT, oh and just bought an R8. And in the ridiculous realm, my moms admin is making 61 without a degree. I told her to fire her and hire me, I do enough of her bitch work as it is. :csb: I know.

Two things:
(1) Helmerich & Payne (Ticker: HP) needs to go ahead and give Hewlett-Packard (Ticker: HPQ) the "HP" ticker. I can't tell you how many times I've been got by that.
(2) HP is the revenue giant in tech. Forward P/E under 7. LINK

I saw a story on techcrunch about HP revs the other day. I know they've been leading global pc sales for awhile, which always blows my mind, but their revenue really is staggering.

I've worked a 12 hour day and 14 hour day this week. On pace for 60+. I'm probably going into the office at 5 tomorrow.

The other interns at this relatively small advisory/IB have been in at 9 and leaving at 9 every day I've been there. No one looks miserable though, its a very chilled out environment, which I find completely different from public accounting. One chick is 21 (yes, hot) and I feel like she's already ahead of me in career terms. I feel so inferior.
