the better question would be-have you ever even been to Missouri.

anyone who calls florida "real southern" and missouri is not, is just dumb.

Have never attended a game there and have absolutely no desire to do so, hence my original post. I have visited St. Louis and talked football and tradition and came away unimpressed. If you disagree and want to knight for the tremendous, huge, exciting presence of Mizzou football, carry on. I've never been to a game at Michigan either, but I'd like to. Never been to a game at Penn State, but I'd like to. Never been to game at FSU or Clemson, but I'd like to. Missouri rides an unexciting line between the midwest and the southwest. I never stated that my opinion was fact, solely what it is meant to be...opinion. The last time I looked at Mizzou with any uncertainty, possibility, and excitement was 2007 and we can all remember how that turned out. 2007 Mizzou with Chase Daniel is like Baylor and RG this year- will we be talking about them in a few years?

well, there ya go...problem solved.
let's add Penn State, Michigan, FSU, or Clemson. I hear they are actively looking for a new conference.

Yes, because everything we say has an effect on what will happen right?

That pretty much sums up everything. Post no more about Missouri. You are not qualified.

Well since this is the case, we should get UNC, Notre Dame, Texas, and USCw to join.

Missouri might not have the passion now but maybe being in the SEC, it will grow. I wouldnt say Vandy has much SEC passion in football with their 33,000 fan average in a 39,000 seat stadium. Mizzou averaged over 61,000 last year (ranked #26 overall, #10 in the SEC).

Missouri at this time is a better football program than UK, Vandy, Ole Miss, and MSU. On par with USC and TAMU. Their all time winning % is higher than all the previously mentioned schools except Ole Miss and TAMU, but also better than USC. Their basketball program is arguably better than all of the SEC outside of UK and Fla. Though their coach just left to take the Arkansas job!

Nope, and from what I read of their numbers, hardly anyone else has also.

From what I have been reading, there are two other reasons for ruling out Clem and FSU. SEC voters have said they are not interested in expanding in existing market and there is a gentlemens agreement between SEC and ACC not to poach each others conference.

1) That's OK. I've never been to Pigville.

2) Clemson and FSU were non-starters from day one.

3) Maybe we should invite West Virginia. A game of them versus Arkansas would bring a whole new meaning to tailgating in the parking lot.

the acc has turned into a yankee basketball confernce.

Duke and UNC are the anchors of the ACC and always have been. Basketball...sure. Yankee...well Duke is when it comes to it's student body, but it's still located in NC and has always been a basketball school so it's not like anything has changed in that regard.

no doubt unc and duke control that conference. john swofford (acc commissioner) is a unc alum and former athletic director. it's also not a coincidence the acc added two yankee basketball schools and will probably add two more in rutgers and uconn. it's a big middle finger to the southern football schools.

If it was all about TV Markets alone, it would be Rutgers. Now we know this is ridiulous but that my point. Missouri is a state contiguous with the SEC. Arkansas shares a large border with them. Not like we inviting Wyoming. On the other hand, West Virginia has a long border with Kentucky.

All this means nothing becasue it is what is.

It would be ideal to add a VA and a NC school. That way the SEC would have a team in every state in the South. I dont think any team wants to leave the ACC.

How? If they don't like it, they can leave. But as we all know because of recent happenings, there is no chance it hell it will happen. The only two schools that definitely fit the "Southern football school" description are FSU and Clemson. I don't know that GT is Southern or a football school anymore. Miami is....Miami and has little to no following. That's 2 or 3 schools, and the ACC seems to be going in the basketball only direction. It is what it is. It sucks but it's not like the ACC was ever a good football conference except for a few solid (but perpetually underachieving) programs.
