I think I expected more. While its not bad i found it not "hoppy" enough. I guess I'm not huge on the carbonation either. It's certainly drinkable, but it wouldn't be my go to ipa.
I agree. I was disappointed from what I remembered from the New Orleans beer fest.. to be honest, the St. Arnolds cascadian I had last night was better

They didn't have the farmhouse at the NOLA beer fest. They had their double IPA. I think all of you guys looking for something more hoppy are forgetting this isn't a double IPA. It's a hoppy Belgian saison. I personally think its the best beer made around here. But I love saisons.

It is definitely a great beer. I drank one of my 4 last night. Carbonation is high. Once I poured it, I had to wait a few minutes before the head stopped rising. Smell is of citrus hops and yeast. It tends to taste more to the hoppy side than yeast but that's probably due to its freshness. I'd recommend drinking them sooner rather than later. I'll probably drink 1 a week to see how they change over time.

I schmooze with Andrew on their weekly tour pretty regularly. There is a lot of beer knowledge at that place. They've had the farmhouse at the past several for tasting.

I was with Andrew last Friday evening. I pulled out a couple Surlys and another poster pulled out a heady topper along with a jai alai.
Was a great evening.

Well look at you all name dropping and shite.
Is that tetu in the camouflage pants?
I broke open one of the Farmhouse IPAs last night, really good stuff, definitely more along the lines of a hoppy saison. I'm really looking forward to the L'Autre Femme next, the test batches have been awesome.

Nah, that was some guy who works there.
I'm looking forward to opening one this weekend. Maybe tomorrow evening.

Had someone buy me a couple of bottles, but really knew little about it. When you live in Bunkie you tend to get slightly "disconnected". If that is an accurate description, then I will be very excited when I get mine.

This Board is so cool when it comes to stuff like this!!!
I pulled up to Matherne's yesterday at saw this dude heading in and thought, I bet he is a F&D-er. Followed him straight to the Farmhouse cases and I said, "Don't take em all"........ .....we chatted and he was another poster. Thanks guys

Haven't had them side by side, but I think that's a good comparison. FIPA may be a bit more effervescent.

All the best beers are in Avoyelles, dude. I just bought a case of Natural Light.
