Looked like a solid 50-50 challenge to me

I didnt either... looks like he got the ball first, studs werent up IMO...
Not initially, but they went up a bit at the end and that's what caught Jack, I think.

the best view is at about the 44 second mark of video on the last page... looks like Agger gets the ball then the top of Wilshere's foot with the side of his foot...
Anyway, doesnt really matter to me, I dont think it was a bad challenge nor was there any intent to injure... It does suck for Jack/Arsenal though..

Johnson will be passed up very soon, if not already, for England.

yeah that's studs up. Not all the way through, but when he made contact it was. If you disagree with the screenshots that's fine, but I think that's what they show. Not intentional, I'm sure, but he took a bad touch and made a lunging tackle, and that's the way it goes sometimes.

I dunno, I think if all are healthy, Johnno will get the nod in the first match over Walker...
In reading some of the comment's on the interwebz (varyious forums discussing England's NT), Walker has been garbage this year... Glen has been too, but he's also been hurt for the majority of the season and is healthy now..

We can probably disagree all day. I think the angle in the video starting at the 8 second mark shows it best. Screen shot doesn't show how his leg comes in, which is from the side. Thats what hits Jack. In your third screen shot you can clearly see its Aggers side of foot which makes contact.
If angle and motion is not considered, you might as well look at your third screen shot and say that Jack is intentionally stomping on Aggers foot.

The third shot pretty clearly shows his studs facing the ground. The problem is that Jack's foot came up from under Dan's, making contact with the studs.
Regardless, it's close. I don't blame Arsenal fans for having an issue with it.

I agree, though I would be more frustrated with Jack's ability to stay healthy than the actual tackle...

I read that Walker was in until he withdrew just a few days ago. That's when GJ was added to roster and started. I assume that meant Walker was the choice.
Posted on 3/6/14 at 2:00 pm to The Mick
Glen was always on the 30 man roster
That said, I know Walker started over Glen last friendly and may have this time around too if he hadnt withdrawn... but my money is on Glen to start in the WC...
Reasons are that Roy likes his veterans, Walker sucks and if we finish strong, he may try to ride that LFC core of success...

his only other major injury was caused by Arsene overplaying him and then England using him as well. this one you kinda have to say oh well. i don't love the challenge personally, especially in the friendly. but he got hit in the perfect spot to break that tiny bone. tough to be frustrated with Jack. he's certainly susceptible to knocks, especially when he's overused. this was just a freak deal.

I agree it is one of those things... it just seems like he is always on the training table, rather than pitch... even if its just for the little knocks... coincidentally, Agger is one that never completes a full season, (yet Skrtel never fricking gets hurt)
Posted on 3/6/14 at 5:28 pm to The Mick
Surprised Agger didn't hurt himself with that challenge
