The Toy with Richard Pryor.

I was a little kid, and never realized there was a joke thrown in a few times until I got older. The kid's name was Eric Bates and Richard Pryor would refer to him as "Master Bates

Every Time I pass the arsenal near the Capitol I think of that man-to-man talk he has with Master Bates on the cannon. What a great 80s flick.

Another La Movie was Skeleton Key

and Beasts of the Southern Wild

and I just saw Dirty Mikes comprehensive list had all mine on there. Haha

Was going to post this one. I enjoyed the movie. May have to go back and watch it again.

"Deja Vu", a New Orleans ATF agent, played by Denzel Washington, utilizes cutting edge surveillance technology to try and catch a domestic terrorist. However, the technology is not what it appears to be.

Ain't none of y'all mentioned Little Chenier yet? It's not the best movie ever, but I enjoyed it. Of course they filmed it about half an hour's drive from where I lived

The Client was based on the New Orleans mob. Most of the movie takes place in Memphis, Tenn but the story line is very much based in LA imo.

How has Pitch Perfect not been mentioned yet?! Filmed on LSU's campus; so many recognizable spots!
