Bill Gates and Steve Jobs both dropped out of college. Richard Branson never attended at all.

People really need to stop using Bill Gates as a poster boy for not attempting or obtaining a college degree.

Harvard's curriculum was essentially easy for Gates, and people were just beginning at that time to even understand the capabilities of computers and the importance/future of software. The guy scored a 1590 out of 1600 on his SAT and was devising algorithms and solving problems so complex that even his professors were incapable of solving them.

A guy whose brilliance was off the charts and cutting edge for his field is not comparable in any way to a kid who doesn't have the desire or wherewithal to go to college in 2014.

Yeah you can drop out of college if you are a genius like Gates. You don't really need it. Also I believe he came from a very wealthy family, so even if he went out and completely failed he would have been fine.

That leaves Steve Jobs, Larry Ellison, Richard Branson, and a long list of other billionaires that never went or dropped out of college, among well known multi-millionaires, around 20% dropped out or never went.
