Yeah I think that is the name. It's right across 200 carondelet, but the entrance is on common, not carondelet.
I've heard about preserve but not crescent club.

correct. Former in-law lived there, and she ended up moving. Said the place could get sketchy at night, especially outside some of the buildings.

I've been around there at night but it was always in big groups.
You don't have to venture too far from that complex to be in sketchville though. I feel like that describes pretty much the entire city though

Anyone know of any non-income based housing in the CBD that allows larger dogs? Other than 930 Poydras?

very true
Honestly, I have good friends that live over by the cemeteries, right off canal, nice little shotgun house with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, and I think they pay like $1200 total a month. Has a nice little backyard too, and all their neighbors are older couples. I would highly recommend that area tbh.

I've been in both those places... not bad, but just don't care for the surrounding area. Especially since I get in at 2 or 3 in the a.m. sometimes.
At this point, I'm about to say screw it and just find something in the quarter.

I'll be looking around for a different place uptown. I'm not set on moving, but if I can find something for around what I pay now when this lease is up I'll probably end up doing it.

Extremely old inventory in a highly desirable city.

I've done about as much research as possible for someone not on the ground in New Orleans, through multiple websites,
I think this is the issue. I don't think mixed-income makes up that much of the total rental supply as a whole. But pretty much all of the "corporate" units are mixed-income, and those are the ones that are easily accessible on the web. Which is how naive out of towners end up living in the St. Thomas projects.

I'm not going to read the whole thread so not sure if this has been discussed. A large number of the historic renovations (nearly all of them), which are currently mixed-income, will remain in this mixed-income format for a predetermined amount of time (i.e. the Hibernia building will be for 7 years). After this holding period, the owners will not renew the leases, renovate units, and then sell them off individually as condos.
This is how financing is obtained and the historic renovation tax credits are utilized. Otherwise, such projects would not be feasible. This is how companies like HRI make bank.

Metairie if you're not a $150,000+ OT baller.

Good luck with that, and parking will make things miserable.

What does this have to do with this discussion?
And even Metairie rentals are kind of expensive in any area you really want to live.

This sounds like a terrible idea. Is there a reason why you want to stay CBD? Have you looked into WHD or Uptown?
