another idea is to fly into Redmond and hitch hike to Sisters and catch a ride to Cool creek trailhead and get to the PCT and hike it to the WA border. Catch a bus in Hood river to Portland and fly out.

Oregon is considered the easiest of the 3 states. People do 300+ plus miles in 20 days. You could do a lot in 7.

GNP is my #1 but I'm not sure the likelihood of getting backcountry permits and whatnot.

Just do it a month or two in advance and I don't think you'd have any problems. For that backpacking trip we did, we just showed up and got it the day before. We got a permit for a 3 day, 2 night trip that was 36 miles and had camping spots at a different lake each night. That was a bit much, but you should be able to find something that fits what you want to do. There's so many options, I wouldn't be too worried about that.

Only thing about the Wonderland is getting there from the airport...
