I think that's an understatement.
What the hell were the feds thinking? The fed was fixing to kill everyone when Eli started talking about getting squeezed.

The saddest thing about the series is how briefly we had the Van Alden/Eli pairing, which ended up being shockingly funny.
Van Alden: "Things are not going well at home."
Eli: "I can attest to that."

No. He's just a fed. Eli named dropped Ness because he was the public face for the war on organized crime at the time and he didn't want to give up the fed they were working with.
For what it's worth, IRL Ness was pretty much exactly that. A figurehead. It was the guys behind the scenes that ended up doing all the work to break up syndicates. I thought it was a pretty cool nod to that.

One of the great episodes for sure!
How will you ever forget the episode Van Alden and Chalky die?

Also, I liked how Gillian is thrown into the mix on the flashbacks of a younger Nucky.
I was wondering when/if they were going to get around to that. It did take me by surprise that it was Gillian. You're so used to the overtly feminine Gillian.
And Eli was in the previews for next week. I don't believe he's done just yet.

seriously. Van Alden has become one of my favorite TV characters of all-time. That actor killed that role.
Can't believe we only have 2 episodes left.

Question, though, why did Mcikey have everyone ready to roll? I mean I know they're going after Lucky, bt it just seemed like a random time to gather the troops.
I wasn't really paying attention that well during that sequence.

Eli probably isn't done. It just ends his time in Chicago. I wonder what he would say if Nucky asked what happened?

A show centered around Van Alden and Eli would be fantastic. Van Alden was the GOAT character of this show

Yea, that scene was really cool but didn't make a lot of sense did it?

I never saw him talk to Mick about muscle.

Yeah, I didn't know if I missed something or not. It was badass though.

Welp...the Chalky, Van Alden, Capone story lines are done.
I'm sorry, but that's the weakest endings to story lines I've seen in quite some time. Not that I'm some Nostradamus, but I could tell what was going to happen with both of them, although i thought Eli was gone as well.
This is why HBO can GFI for trying to squeeze this series into 8 episodes. Weak as hell.

Didn't Nucky tell Mickey to round up the muscle a couple of episodes ago?

Is the kid tending bar and who found Nucky, Tommy Darmody? Commenters on YouTube are acting like it's a sure thing.

Kid's name is Harper unless they're feeding us a gotcha.
