Those were from the 50's/60's.. or at least the majority in that 1.5 hour time slot on Saturday a.m.

The Simpsons saw its heyday in the early 90's. As far as original cartoons, 90's > 80's.

But that's it. 80's owned the 90's in literally everything else. The technology boom of the 90's will be our undoing. Everyone is a narcissist now.. with ADD sprinkled on top.

Innocence? Did you miss the 70's or 80's? Innocence in America has been gone for a really really long time.

Pinson seems to have stayed relatively the same over the years. Trussville is really taking a turn for the worst compared to the boom it experienced with the shopping centers 7 or 8 years ago. You see so many people trying to sell their house around that area.

I agree, I think innocence in America was lost in November 1963 personally

I've got some firends there and they're looking to get their kids out. From what they've told me the school there is being overrun with drugs and violence.

Yeah, Trussville today is still nice but it's heading downhill fast. It's very overcrowded with a lot of rich people but if you go up Hwy 11 you will be in the hood in less than 5 minutes. Crime is really getting bad in Trussville, especially around those shopping centers.

Doesn't surprise me. A family member of mine was robbed there years back. It's very close to a string of crack houses along the highway.

I think it's great that Birmingham is trying to revive some of the really bad areas like Avondale and Woodlawn but Jefferson County as a whole needs to get its act together.

The Birmingham Northern Beltline will help traveling but it's costing a lot and they need to put more focus on our education system.

When I moved to Bham, I worked in Trussville for the first couple years (2010-2011.) I learned very quickly that I did not want to live there or off of 280. Glad I made that choice.

Yeah, you made the right choice. We actually looked at moving to Trussville about 9 years ago to be closer to where I work. Didn't take too long to see it was over crowed with too many people overly impressed with themselves and literally only a couple minutes away from the hood. If you look at a map of Birmingham you can see how the different areas of north Birmingham have fallen like dominoes since the 70's. At one point the nice part of town was East Lake, it went down then the nice areas were Roebuck & Center Point. Now they're shitholes, Now it's Trussville that's the nice area but that's not going to last much longer. I'd say in about another 10-15 years, most of Trussville will be the hood.

That's like many cities. Decent folk have to keep moving further and further from the city bc trash won't stop spreading. Sec 8 helps it along.

I think the difference was that prior to the proliferation of the internet, the 24 hour news cycle, and global islamoterrorism, even if the teenagers and adults were all f&%ked up on drugs, having sex, murdering people, fighting in wars, ect, children could still remain innocent. Now, not so much. I agree that innocence for the rest of America was lost in 1963, but that cynicism we all fear every day, whether it was about Civil Rights, Vietnam, OPEC embargo, the economy, the cold war, The Islamic Revolution, crack wars, columbine, ect. Once those towers fell, children could no longer be sheltered from that cynicism. The world changed,

I love how Bill Clinton takes full claim for this and he gives Bush, the president before him zero credit.

Now Obama is president and the economy sucks. He gives Bush, the president before him all of the blame.
