Or do you have no preference?

I prefer to download games so I don't have to worry about a disc
however I buy physical copies of games I'm not sure I'll like so I can trade them back in

Hard copies on ps4 just because it's cheaper with best buy gamers club

Download because on PC it doesn't make any sense to get hard copies unless you have shitty internet and/or a bandwidth cap that you are afraid of hitting.

I like the hard copies and since you can link most games to steam i don't have to worry about the disk long term

Hard copies, internet sucks.

Hard copies cause of shitty isp data limit.

Both. It just depends on if I feel like getting off my couch to drive to the store.

Because of the behemoth that is Steam, I had never thought of this. I will never be able to get this out of my head now...

As long as offline mode still worked then most of them would be salvagable, but MP would be dead.

Couldn't tell you the last hard copy I bought.

Hard copy Xbone games because the file sizes of downloaded games are fricking ridiculous.
40 gigs for the Dragon Age demo? frick that.

I buy what's cheapest. I'm about 60/40 physical copies to digital copies.

If you ask Steam Support about what happens to your games if Valve closes, their canned response is, "In the unlikely event of the discontinuation of the Steam network, measures are in place to ensure that all users continue to have access to their Steam games."
So, sort of comforting I guess. In any event, Valve multiplayer would definitely be fricked, but other multiplayer games use their own servers and/or P2P.
