Two links to some site called "War is Boring" does not an argument make.

For every blogger out there writing about the Russian military being nothing more than a cheap copy of the Red Army from 30 years ago, there are an equal number of authorities out there who write that the Russian Army is in far better shape now than it has ever been since the break-up of the Soviet Union in 1991.
Putin has watched with alarm how Nato has expanded to Russia's borders, how the US and some of its NATO allies bomb and invade countries without first seeking UN approval (Iraq in 2003, Serbia in 1999), and brazenly participates in regime change (See Undersecretary Nuland and the Ukraine crisis of 2013-2014), and as a result has started to invest heavily in Russia's military and has started to punch back (e.g. Georgia in 2008 and Ukraine in 2014-2015).
Clinton and Bush forgot the fundamental reason for NATO, which was to keep the Germans down, the US in, and the Russians out. Expanding NATO to include the Baltic republics along with former Warsaw pact countries did nothing to enhance US National security, it simply expanded the list of countries that we obliged to go to war for in order to defend, without their being able to contribute much of anything to the common defense.

That whole throwing wave after wave of conscripts isn't a very good tactic on their part.
I doubt they would take that tactic again. I think we can look to Ukraine and Crimea as to what Russia's current tactics are.

Yeah, because the United States is extremely frugal with its military budget and R&D

Russia has had some muscular hardware designs over the years. Some effective and some like the dude at the gym who outlifts everyone but would stroke out if he ran a mile.

What's actually happening in that pic? Is it some type of recovery or transport vehicle? You can see the yellow load binders securing the tank to the deck. I'm curious about why it's tilted so extremely. Maybe it's some sort of testing device... Do the engines run, does the turret turn, etc. at extreme angles.
Can one of you armor experts help me out!?!

One weakness I see for the tank besides it's complexity is the multiple mission tasks set for it. Ground to Air, Ground to Ground, Anti Armour are a lot of missions to hold down. That with the maintenance involved in keeping a tank serviced are a whole lot for a crew of two to keep up with.

And you base this little nugget of wisdom on what? Watching the original Red Dawn and perhaps a few James Bond movies from the 1960-80's?

Those vehicle markings remind me of the old GI Joe vector logo.

None of this matters, US Navy and Airforce has more ships and planes than the rest of the world combined. We would bomb and bombard them to hell and then send in our boys. This all played out on Call of Duty anyway and we won going away...

Europe & the US better pull their heads out of their asses or the nightmare we dreaded in the 80's, a Soviet invasion of central Europe, could be a real threat within the next decade.
France has said recently that anyone attempting to invade will get the nuke dropped on them. They literally don't give a frick about M.A.D. I'm more worried about those poffers trying to deal with if by themselves.
