with the man from u.n.c.l.e, bridge of spies and (to a stretch) even the resurrection of SPECTRE in the new Bond film what are your favorite films featuring the espionage of the cold war?
also always believed this song would be perfect in a cold war spy movie:
basically what the music video is

Breach is up there for me.
That shite was tense as frick and as much as I used to hate Philipe, he's pretty badass in it.
Chris Connelly is also phenomenal.

Would Spy Game count with the flashbacks to Berlin and defections and whatnot?

I've never seen that. Need to check it out.

I feel like it's more contemporary that has beginnings in the cold war.

Does The Hunt for Red October count?
If not, No Way Out, The Manchurian Candidate or Spies Like Us.

From Russia, With Love (even though it was a SPECTRE work).

Other than Bond movies, the film, The Soldier (1982) starring Ken Wahl.
Maybe it was the scene where they jumped the Berlin Wall in a Porsche sealed the deal for me. I always dug that movie when it was on heavy rotation on HBO.
Female lead was Alberta Watson (RIP) in her prime:

I would count it.
Our Man In Havana
The Ipcress File
Three Days of the Condor
The Falcon and the Snowman
Now Way Out
The Russia House

I love that movie. Also, The Marathon Man.

Now Way Out

That ending was pretty shocking.

Jagged Edge had a shocking ending too that's probably why you confused em.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy - BBC mini series with Alec Guinness.
Actually - the newer movie is very good but you had better know the story in advance. It does not coddle the viewer at all. I re-watched it a month ago and was more impressed the second time. Great cast.
Heh - didn't see the thread below.

That was honestly one of the worse movies I ever saw.

The Third Man and it's not debatable.
